 Mortality and Everlasting
 By Mohammad Rafique Etesame

It is universal truth that everything is mortal and going to perish by and by. And, at last, the time will come when the entire universe will destroy as a whole. But Allah Almighty, The Eternal and Everlasting for ever without end. As Says in the Holy Qur’an, “Every one that is thereon will pass away; There remaineth but the Countenance of thy Lord of Might and Glory.(The Beneficent:27) Mortality (Fana) is explained in this article by a unique point of view and as: - (1)If a man is hungry and meal is putting before him, but his belly cannot be filled up only to see it until he eats it. (2)Man is thirsty and water is in the glass, but he cannot slake his thirst only to see it until he drinks it. When the water losts itself then he will satisfy. (3)Tree is blooming on the earth, but it is quite useless for anyone, until it is cut, and then be burnt or the furniture made by it. Now, it called “furniture” not a tree, because the tree has been lost. Similarly, when the lamp burns, it creates light, and if it” refuses to burn”, then there will be no light but darkness everywhere. To give light, the lamp has to burn. So, it is proved by above mentioned examples that unless anything lost itself, it cannot achieve its goal Now I come to the point, human being is the best creation of the universe and brought into being for a special purpose i.e. to worship Allah Almighty. He cannot achieve this goal until he lost himself in this way. It means that one should try his/her best and lost himself in the way of Allah. The Holy Qur’an Ordains,” O mankind! Worship your Lord, Who hath created you and those before you, so that ye may ward of (evil). Who hath pointed the earth a resting-place for you, and the sky a canopy; and causeth water to pour down from the sky there by producing fruits as food for you, And do not set up rivals to Allah when ye know (better).(The Cow: ) So, a believer should obey the commands of his Real Lord and kill the bad qualities and bad habits . Like’ Shirk’( belief in the plurality of God), arrogance, Hypocrisy ,Disobedience , etc. And act upon the good example of the Holy Prophet(PBUH). Also to make his ‘Nafs-e-Ammarah’ (inordinate sprit) civilize and to do ‘Jihad-e-Akbar (big fight) against it . By this manner, as he lost himself i.e. to lost his will in the will of Allah. According to the teachings of Islam, the real life is; the life in Paradise and the real death is: the death in Hell. This worldly death is only “Inteqal” (transfer) from this world to the other world. The question is: what will someone gain if one lost himself in the way of Allah? So, Almighty Allah Says in the Holy Qur’an,”Lo! Those who believe and do good works are the best of created beings. Their reward is with their Lord: Gardens of Eden underneath which rivers flow, wherein they dwell forever. Allah hath pleasure in them and they have pleasure in Him. This is ( in store ) for him who feareth his Lord. (Al-Bayyenah :8) It means that a faithful believer will gain such a life that is the real, pleasant ,everlasting and full of reward.
